ST.MARTIN & ST.MAARTEN 2008

More Hot Artistes to join St.Maarten Reggae Vybes Festival!

Reggae Vybes Festival in St.Maarten

French St. Martin natives Natisha Hanson and Christopher Flanders will be guests on the reggae vybes show in the Carnival Village. They have been named best female and male vocalists of St. Maarten this year, winning the first ever SXM Star Search competition.

Both singers received $20,000 in cash prizes, assistance in making an album and music video that will be featured on Caribbean music channel Tempo and vocal training. These local talents are not to be missed! Joining Gee-Money as MC that night is DJ and MC Shamrock. These two MCs are bound to brighten up your night.

Dominican reggae artiste Aima is another hot reggae artiste to enter the incredible line-up of this event. He has performed in various shows with Caribbean and international reggae artistes both in Dominica and abroad. His first album "No Barriers" was released in 2004. In 2005 at Dominica's local radio station DBS Flamboyant Awards, he won the award for best reggae album.

Aima grew up poor and, according to him, that wasn't easy. However, it has made him strong and kept him down to earth. Rastafari religion also helped him. It gave him a higher purpose and a greater outlook on life.

This event is getting hotter by the minute! The Evablazing Models, Roots Foundation, Gee-money and Lighting Storm combine their talents with DJ Coolayshan, St. Maarten Star Search winners Natisha Hanson and Christopher Flanders, MC Shamrock and Aima and then the night explodes with Jamaica's Demarco's "Falling Soldiers" and Tarrus Riley's "She's Royal!"

Tickets are on sale this week at the following locations: Van Dorp in Philipsburg and Simpson Bay; PJD2 radio station in Philipsburg; Adolphus Office Supplies in Philipsburg; Numerly's Restaurant on Pondfill Road; the Music Centre in Marigot; Choppy's Supermarket in St. Peters; Best Buy gas station and Kenneth's restaurant in French Quarter.
